Life Coach for Better Marriages, and Close Relationships
As of January 2013, David has over 12,000 hours combined experience and training working with couples and individuals. He began his study of relationships and life coaching in 1995 with Global Relationship Centers (GRC). Bill Reidler was his teacher and the founder of GRC. In 1998 David received a teaching certificate from GRC after having completed more than 2000 hours of instruction and practice designed to establish expertise in a variety of areas related to personal and life coaching. These areas included such diverse topics as self acceptance; living a passionate, fulfilled life; creating inner peace; the ability to influence others; assertiveness training; conflict resolution; relationship dynamics; the power of forgiveness; and skills to build intimate, loving relationships.
David has been a full-time Life Coach since January 2000 and practices in the Austin, Texas area as well as offers personal life coaching online with Skype. Most of his clients have come for help with relationships, career, or personal hurdles. He’s a member in good standing of the International Coach Federation.
What David is not: He is not a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist. His training has been as a coach and counselor. The primary difference in his training and approach from these other professions is that that his focus is the achievement of goals, the present and the future rather than the past. His intention is to help you create the life you want by understanding your life now as opposed to focusing primarily on your past. This is not to say that you don’t talk at all about the past, rather that it isn’t the primary focus.
David is an entrepreneur; he has extensive experience with small businesses. He’s owned and operated more than a half dozen businesses. These enterprises have helped him tremendously in areas of business as diverse as relationships, marketing, goal-setting, influencing others, website creation, and SEO (search engine optimization). Each of these tools has continued to be useful to him as a personal life coach and marriage counselor in Austin.
David’s Business Partner is Carrie Manongdo. They work together with couples as well as co-facilitate workshops. Carrie and David have been counseling together since 2011. They have found that working together gives clients the benefit of different backgrounds and experiences, not the least of which is gender. Carrie is a mother of three children and brings a strong feminine perspective to both couples and individuals. David is the father of one child and likewise brings a masculine element to his counseling.
Marriage Counselor Austin Tx – David’s focus as a life coach is to help individuals build meaningful and fulfilling relationships in families, marriages, careers and with God both in the Austin area as well as across the country through online classes and life coaching sessions. Society offers much encouragement to find a “soul mate,” to make money and to achieve our goals. A wealth of confusing, misinterpreted, and sometimes inaccurate information is available about how to do that. One of my objectives is to help others find “the truth within,” which will enable them to live the fulfilled lives they seek.
David became a minister in December 2001. He was ordained in the Universal Life Church. His intent in counseling is not to endorse any particular faith, but to encourage individuals and couples to create fulfilling lives and relationships. His work is based on the principle that we are spiritual beings first and foremost. David has expanded his ministry in helping others by incorporating over 700 hours of meditation training at a Vipassana meditation center in Kaufman, Texas.
In the past century we’ve begun a movement in the world to correct the political, educational and economic imbalance between men and women. We’re in the midst of a difficult process of redefining the roles of men and women, not only in the world but also in the family. This shift has led to uncertainty for individuals and couples, and has caused great upheaval for individuals, families, and society. The rules of life we followed for centuries are being questioned. What works, what’s effective and beneficial to everyone? This is the question David helps people answer for themselves. Meaningful and effective solutions are possible, and that is what he offers as a personal life coach, couples and marriage counselor.
