Create a Vision Board by Austin Couples Coach
What’s a Vision Board?
A vision board is a collage of pictures cut out from magazines or other periodicals to help you visualize your goals. It’s typically made on a poster board or a scrapbook.
The idea is to surround yourself with images of your desires, places you want to go, things you want to do, or who you want to become. By creating this visual collage, you help yourself make life changes to match those images and those desires.
Do you want more money? Include a picture of you swimming in cash or opening a treasure chest. Want a lover? Pictures of couples dancing or doing something you find fun or romantic may be best for you. Are you looking for better health? Photos of nutritious foods, slender and healthy looking people, or participants in a triathlon may be encouraging to you.
Having constructed a physical image of what you perceive life will be like once you’ve accomplished your goals, you’ll then review it as often as you like – very intently. It’s not the number of times you review it, but the intensity you create within yourself when performing the routine that matters.
Do you need to come to a class to do this? No! You can do it on your own. Then why come to a class? First, to help you get it done. I once asked a couple to create a vision board. Despite their apparent eagerness, a month later they still had no vision board. Secondly, doing it with a small group of people helps you generate enthusiasm; it’s a fun way to do something creative to change your life. Thirdly, this class has a built in accountability element: You’re connecting with people who will encourage you after you’ve made your vision board.
What you need: A poster board or scrap book, glue or rubber cement – not Elmer’s, plenty of magazines – preferably different types.
Austin Couples Coach offers the class free of charge; you’re welcome to make a donation. Call for dates and times for our next class.
